6 France
In 6 France, our teacher is Mrs Alexiou-Holt and we are supported by many adults including: Miss Teale, Miss Pheasby, Mr Major, Miss McGregor and Miss Hughes.
Our class is named after Arthur France MBE who is a senior community leader in Leeds, best known as the founder of the Leeds West Indian Carnival, the oldest authentic Caribbean carnival in Europe. During our first few weeks we listened to carnival music, designed out own outfits and learned about the kings and queens of the carnival.
6 Cohen
In 6 Cohen, our teacher is Mr Duxbury and we are supported by many adults including: Miss Teale, Miss Pheasby, Mr Major, Miss McGregor and Miss Hughes.
Our class is named after Leonora Cohen who was an English suffragette and trade unionist, and one of the first female magistrates. We learned about her work and completed some biographies and portrait artwork.
